FlashCardPrinter is a lean framework for printing flash cards. Flash cards help you learn your vocabulary or similar things that can be described in a few words on the two sides of a piece of paper. It can either work as web application or on the command line.
fcprinter consist of a set of PERL files. There is a command line tool to convert simple text files into PDF files. But there is also a browser interface which runs over a http server. Both tools rely on Apache FOP to create the PDF files.
The front page of such a card may look like this:
The back page looks similar and contains the according translations. If you wish you can add some bookkeeping information at the bottom of each card. For example include a lesson name or the date of printing.
A certain number of cards are printed on a sheet of paper. After printing you need to cut them out. Either with a sharp knife and a ruler or a cutting machine. You can download a sample file with several pages printed on both front and back side.
